Show us some pics - how did you decorate it?

Great plane, isn't it

Nice to hear your great story, Bearweasel!
Can you specify your control throws, and amount of expo used?

I definitely need to build the 30" sometime. I always take the 20" with me. There doesn't exist anything like "no flying weather" if you've got a DDD with you in the trunk...

It has crashed badly, been repaired badly, flew better actually, and just last weekend some guy brought his dog with him, when we went sloping our planes. The dog ran around my dear planes, and I told the owner "please watch your dog", when the inevitable happened: CRACK!! it walked right through my DDD...

The Missus taped the badly cracked wing, and it went into the air again. Great plane.

Haven't decorated it yet, but I will. Wanted to make sure I had built it right, first, as I deviated a little from the plans. My canopy and vertical is one piece of foam. Pics to follow, as I'm at work. Not much going on, so I'm goofing off on here. I haven't played with any expo yet, and control throws are about 1/4" up and down. I plan on flying it at the slopes, too.

Wow...Should be pretty indestructible with that 9mm EPP...

Nice mod on the canopy.

That was my intention, as the landing zones around here are largely comprised of volcanic rock. Also, the sheets of EPP big enough for the pieces were 9mm; I had used up my 6mm on other things. You can't see it in the pics, but I rounded the leading edges of the wings. Even with the 9mm and carbon rod spars, there's noticeable flex in the top wing during flight. I was surprised at how light it came out, considering the power system I ended up installing in it.

Nope, no video. Spent all my money on model airplane and project car parts.

Re: Deans:

I don't use the big Deans... The Mini Deans are good for 10a or so, and I go to PowerPoles above that (Anderson, Litespeed, Duratrax, etc.)

I have a few odd full size Deans laying around if anyone wants them, let me know...

I flew the DuplexDelta at E-Fest...

The guys loved it!

I had quite a few ask about it before I flew it, and quite a few after I had forgotten how easy to groove it was. It woulda been a good one for the pylon race.

No, has not flown. Finished late last night. Test run up of motor seemed to indicate unlimited vertical.

Looks good, man! You may find, as I did, that your DDD might need a bit of downthrust. It's more a matter of personal flying taste than a requirement, though, as the DDD is very forgiving.
