Extreme AP'ing. Climbing a mountain and flying from the peak.
I climbed a 1500 m mountain with some friends and flew my E-Starter from the peak. There was nowhere to land but I was happy as long as the camera survived. After all, it was inside a lot of protective foam.
http://www.enrarot.net/videos/e-starter/e-starter27.wmv I wish the weather was clearer. The haze and clouds make for a low contrast video. Had the wind direction been from the other direction I could have just plopped it down on the peak but it wasn't easy to get it down this time. equipment: E-Starter and Nikon CP 3700. |

that's an AWESOME video. Really nice work. How's the poor plane? The mountain view & the weather in the video remind me of where I was born. Thanks

Lynxman,
I really enjoyed that. Extreme it is. I like the part fom 4:10 seconds to 4:15 seconds where you and your buddies are pretty well framed in the distance. That really showed the scope of what you were doing. The glaciers were nice too. That was very unique. Not too many people could do that whole project. I suspect the landing was an easy part of the adventure. Dan |

What can I say lynxman except WOW!!! Just to have the nerve to climb to the top of that peak, quite an effort. I doubt if any of us will be matching your feat anytime soon.
The rush from doing something like that would be well worth the effort. Imagine, you're probally the only person in the world who has flown an rc ap aircraft from that peak. Was any of you friends flying too or just you? One more question, what size was the sd card you were using for your video? |
