Sorry, this thread is for scale designs not copies of copyrighted RC aircraft designs. Best place to get one is your local hobby shop. Buy the kit.

Hilarious that you emphasize "copyrighted" pertaining to models yet ignore the fact that all these scale drawings of real aircraft are also copyrighted designs.

In the beginning of this thread someone was going put this material in a ZIP file.

I went to the specified location trying to download it ... but it was a dead link.

Does anybody know where I might find the zip file?

I can do it the hard way ... but ...

Thanks

I'm beginning a scratchbuild of a 56-inch span, electric, YC-122D Avitruc.
There were no drawings on the web.
I was able to find the two pilot's manuals (the A/B and the C/D) that did have a general arrangement drawing. I've cleaned the D up a bit.

And the copyright on most of these designs being talked about here expired long, long ago and are public domain. It's only in the last decade or so that the copyright laws have been changed to essentially make copyright effectively eternal rather than the seventeen years after publication. Effectively killing the public book publishing and record remastering industries.

I see this thread as a starting point for the build process as most drawings that are posted here are poor quality or size and making large drawings from them will just distort them further.

I'm a bit confused by this statement. Are you suggesting that this is a useless thread because the drawings will be distorted?

And as far as your response to paa, can't really speak for him, but I'd take a guess that he's not a "business", and doesn't intend his desired future BUILD to be sold.
I put BUILD in caps to point out that that's exactly the point of this thread - it's for people who want to build. Not buy. Maybe he just wants to make a simple 3mm depron profile of it to put his existing $50 worth of gear on it.
That is NOT copyright infringement. At all. If it was, every kid who ever drew a picture of a corvette or mustang is guilty of copyright infringement.

I'm really at a loss as to why you'd choose to go after him about this.

btw, I do get that it's not a scale plane, and part of me agrees - he could just draw up his own views. If they're off a tiny bit, no one would know or care.

I sometimes import the PDF into Inkscape or Illustrator then enlarge it there. To get the right size I'd draw a rectangle of the size I want (either wing span or fuse length) and manually scale it until the part fits perfectly inside the rectangle.
