When You're Out Of F8... The Crusader Build Thread

Hi guys !
Today starts a new thead about the Vought F8 Crusader, one of the famous US carrier based jets. An aircraft for men and true Skyknights !
I think it's unecessary to remind American modellers of the history of this fighter in US Navy and Marines ...
My F8 will be a F8E (FN) from the French Navy Flottille 14F (early 60's paintscheme). Crusaders served in France between 1964 and 1999 on carriers Foch and Clemenceau.

As usual, the airframe is simple as possible.
Wing construction :

Cut all parts from 3 mm Depron and 3 mm balsa, before glueing ribs and spars on the intrados skin.
Spars reinforcements with carbon are essentials, because of the airfoil thinness.

Then, just glue polyester tracing paper hinges and the extrados skin... And big work on wing's temporarily over !

Work on rear top fuselage. Top fuselage with wing and rudder temporarily in place.
