Dallas Area Hobby Shops
ATMJIM,
You need to go to Mikes Hobby shop in Carrollton. Go North on 35, past 635. exit at Sandy Lake Road, take the U turn under 35 and go South on service road. Take right turn about a mile down the service road (in a business park area) go one block, they will be on your right in a strip business building. They sell rubber, electric, glow airplanes, cars and boats. The address is 1605 Crescent Circle. Phone # (972) 242-4930. WWW.mikeshobbyshop.com |

It's not in Dallas, but you might want to check out Roy's Hobby shop in Hurst. Some of the best prices around. Sometimes they are cheaper than even mail order.

Be particularly aware that EAM keeps odd hours for the retail portion of the business. Well worth stopping in, just see the web site for times.

Mikes is a must, and Eam if you can get there during hours.
I am not sure where you are going, but there are an informal bunch of guys who fly at Renner Road and 190. Almost always someone there except tuesday nights when the area is used for a Bike Race. Kirby |

Here's My List in Priority
EAM is electric only and have lots of different type of kits, Arfs, motors etc. EDF is a specialty of theirs. It's always fun to go there.
EAM retail hours Monday Wednesday Friday 6PM-9PM Sat 12n-3pm Mikes has some electric but seems to specialize in Zagi's and parkflyer stuff. I went to get a 14x7 prop and the largest they had were 10 inche slowflyer. I asked them but they said they just stuck with parkflyer stuff and Zagi's. They have a lot of nice models hanging from the celling that are on consignment. Lots of glow kits and ARFs. Texas RC has some electric but is similar to Mikes. They're testing the electric waters although they do carry my 14x7 props and even an 18" one! T&T RC in Plano. Again, mainly an RC Car hobbystore that are feeling the waters for electric flying. It is a good place to get electric parts for motors. Sorry, but I haven't been to Roy's in Hurst yet but it sounds like it may come in #2 or 3. Kelvin |

I have been to them all. The order from best to worst is (when it comes to electrics):
1. EAM 2. Mikes 3. Texas RC 4. Roys 5. TnT 6. Mickeys A1 |

My head exploded, over stimulation, the hobby shop here should sell vacuum cleaners...wanna guess why. Somebody save us, I just can't seem to raise the cash to start one here, we need one here badly. I am going to formally ask on another post.

Well thanks for the responses, unfortunately I was unable to make it to any shops(Inlaws are scary: I'll leave it at that) I did get to ride the Mr. freeze and Titan at 6 flags and of course the TEXAS GIANT.
