Alrighty then! I just happen to have 91 four stroke looking for a place to do business. Did you notice the the lower wing has dihedral? Wire bracing looks good, too.

Yes I think This will be a winner. Nice to see Hanger 9 doing somthing different. I would love to see them do a nice Hurricane and loose that shiny covering

Nice looking plane but the covering has to go. It looks like a blow up plane. A fabric recovering job would have to be done to make the plane look decent.

The full sized Camel had dihedral on the lower wing only, I think the term 'blow up plane' means that it looks like it's shiny and hence looks like an inflatable toy.

Couldn't you use Flat Fuel Proofing to settle that problem? I hope Hanger 9 makes some Jasta Planes... I just might want to buy it. Arizona Models is way over priced in my book, however you do get a lot of cool gadgets with the ARF's, like detailed Cockpit's, Realistic Guns and etc. I also heard that the majority of the ARF kits are in good quality. It's almost worth the $700.

I love WWI planes. They have so much character when they are built correctly. In my opinion, WWI planes should be covered in fabric. Nothing takes away from the look more than a nice shiny ultracote finish as opposed to a matte scale finish. The only way I would ever get this model is if I had the mindset to remove all of the covering and recover in a proper covering.

Yes...but why would you want to do that? Just use the Testors Dull Coat, and then apply the Flat Fuel Proofing. It will take the shine right out of it!

It's much cheaper than re-covering everything. On the full size planes they Doped the Fabric and applied the paint by hand with a Roller and or Brush... didn't they? I know when I helped restore my friends 1947 J-3 cub I had to do that, except I used a Power Airbrush when it was time for the Primmer and Paint. The newer Methods some what, takes the "Cloth Look" right out of it anyways.

Agree , I have some corsair pics posted , a little flat coat , lines , sanding and it looks 75 years old . fabric covering would be great but I think its a cost factor , perhaps it would mean fabric covering and then painting , so its probably easire to use ultracote based on its compound curve adhearsion

I think it looks pretty good. Like peter says, flattenning the covering will help a bunch. Just one can of top-flite flat clear and it will look a thousand times better.
This is my Hangar 9 Jug. The first picture is as it comes from the factory, the second is after 10 minutes with a can of Top-flite flat clear. I have flown this plane tons of times and it stands up great and looks a thousand times better than the shiny covering. I am sure the same will be true of the Camel.
Good Luck
Paul
