Walley Submarine - Inexpensive Alternative

Heres my walley sub, modified. Have taken it down to 15 feet with modifications. Surface range is nearly 100 feet.
Got on EBAY, no longer at wal mart.

Modifications

Modifications were:

a. Silicone sealant on all hoses and motor seams;
b. Modified receiver antennae;
c. Modified transmitter antennae;
d. 2500mah rechargeable AA batteries in the sub;
e. 9.6volt rechargeable in the transmitter;
d. Reballasting and styrofoam for the additional weight.

The power nearly doubled with the 2500 mah rechargeable batteries. The additional power lets you do mutiple movement functions at the same time.

The upgraded 9.6 volt helps with the range as voltage increases range.

Heres another one I did with sail and bow plane modifications.

Went to walley marts in DFW...resorted to ebay.

Antennae

Doubled the length of the receiver antennae (RC hobby shops) and installed a telescoping antennae on the transmitter (radio shack).

What about gutting the Walmart sub and using the components in a Trumpeter Seawolf???

Could you use the drive system and maybe use the pump in a RCABS system??

Just a thought.

It's very possible to take a Wally sub and make it work but I am wondering if RCABS is possible...depends if the pump motor can run in reverse..that's the big question there..
Anybody know if this will work?

How did you get the steering to work?? I heard these things would only turn well if they were not moving. Please post a video.

I don't know how the pump works by default. Why would it have to run in reverse?

Looks really nice.

I,ve done some simliar thing, gutting a toyish RC and replacing it with good RC gear.

How about a vid of your 'walley' sub going?

To answer both questions I have no video out as of yet, I need to mount the electronics first then I can show everybody how it was done.
