New battery for high power applications?

I'm big into car audio and a friend of mine runs these : http://www.batcap.net/home.htm (300 version) in his car instead of extra batteries. They are 12volt so equivilant to 10 cells, but if you charge them to a lower voltage then they will only charge to that voltage (so you can run them as 6 cell if you choose). They have 2.5aH capacity, and have no problem discharging at 300 amps. And can charge at as fast a current as you can throw at them (100 amps plus is EASY for this) The only problem is that they weigh 2.5 pounds. But they may work very well, who knows I'm going to try some soon.

It says they handle 300 amps for 5 seconds... That's good, but I think that 150-200amps rather than 300 is good... Say the battery does have a volt drop to about 11 volts under a 300 amp load. That's 3,300 watts in. An F5B ship has 27 cells at about 3 oz a cell. F5B pack at 5.0625 pounds/1,400-2,000 watts versus 2.5 pounds/1,400-3,300 watts (for 5 seconds). Hey, build that plane! You might have a semi-suitable battery for having something close/equal to F3B (C?) racing.

Try them!!! These will fly a plane, how well is up to you.

If an F5B ship carries 27 cells, they are under 1.5oz per cell (1250SCR or CP1700). Even sub-C's (2400's) are 2oz, not 3. Weight limit for battery in open class is 1100g - still 38oz, but you'd claimed 81!
Just a correction..

um... they say the 2.5aH capacitor will last for 1 hour under a 5v load? huh?

interesting, but... I can only think of one app, powered gliders. really BIG powered gliders. I'd assume 2 minutes is good runtime? that means 30C, so 75A. 7.5lb for a 27cell setup... is that really that good?
