If you are into flat-black, the Korean era night-fighters are good looking.

David,
The F4U posted is an FAS (Fuerza Aerea Salvadoreņa) 1969 Soccer War combatant. El Salvador flew both FG-1 Corsairs and P-51 Mustangs, while Honduras flew F4U-5's.
This was the last and only time these great piston engine WW2 fighters flew and fought against each other. After the war, El Salvador started flying Cavalier F-51's and shortly after upgraded to Ouragans.
After the war, I remember my Father taking me to "La Carrera" air base and thats where I first saw these great airplanes up close. What a thrill that was!

Wombat- I liked that paint scheme so much, I gave my beatup old Corsair a new paint job. I was disappointed to see how the paint covered the spots where the old decals were, but its a good 10 foot paint job. That website has alot of great photos.
