This is what I am using and I love how my latest turned out. It is ultralight, and only needs a Rhino 3S 610 lipo to balance it out.

Blue Wonder 1700kv
HXT 9 gram servos
GWS 7060 slowfly prop, but I want to try a 7035HD
TowerPro 12amp ESC
Rhino Lipo 3S 610mah
Spektrum AR6100e

I got it all at HC with the exception of the RX.

Gene Bond is using the 1500Kv blue wonder and a larger lipo, but 2S. I am sure that would work well also, but I just like the punch of a 3S pack. However you go, I have enjoyed mine much more when it was lite!!

I may be a complete dolt but I have searched the HC site and cannot find anything specifically called a "blue wonder"..... Ya, I'm "that guy", need it spelled out for me! Thanks for the responses so far!

What do these thing fly like anyway? Have a Hyperflea and love it. Also have MPXT, MSCom Citabria, etc. RT

I have this motor that Ive used on another foamie and love it.

https://www.gravesrc.com/ProductDeta...Code=BPA2212-6

"A powerful high RPM motor for high-speed flying wings... up to 100 grams (35 oz) using 2 or 3 li-poly cells. Manufacturer recommends a 7 x 5 prop on 2 cells, and a 5 x 5 or 6 x 4 prop on 3 cells. We suggest propping for around 200 watts continuous power. Expect to pull 18 to 20 amps on 3 cells with a 5 x 5 prop. Use with a 25 amp or greater ESC. An excellent higher-powered replacement for Speed 400/480 motors in park-flyer sized prop jets and flying wings."

Nope, sorry, they aren't called blue wonders on that site. But many know of it as the blue wonder 24 gram CDrom style outrunner.

I would suggest either of the 1500 or 1700's for the swift II.

That should be all you need for it. PLEASE, don't modify your swift II. It does NOT need a lot of extra tape or carbon spars. Keep it lite lite lite and you will be happy with it. Use a 7060 or 7035 GWS prop with the 1700 or an 8040 on the 1500 motor and you will have plenty of thrust and draw around 7~8 amps and have plenty of speed to boot. The only mod you will need is to enlarge or create larger cut outs for some of the components like the ESC or your RX. I cover those with strapping tape, or white duct tape and that is all I use. Two of my buds fly this exact same setup and LOVE how theirs flys and floats. Go heavy, and you lose the slow float that it can do. Also keeping it lite means you are less likely to break it from a crash.

It will be similar to your hyperflea, but floaty. You can take it out and just chase thermals if you like. I got an hours flight on my first one, which was much heavier with a 3S 1000 lipo just floating in the wind and lift. But it is still fun fast and low, or slow and low. Doesn't high alpha like the fleas and flys, but it is more locked in / precise IMO.

Thanks for all the great input! LHS has the Swift on the shelf. No one knows what to do with them so they sit there. Cheap too, @$35. Order will be placed this weekend! Will post when airborne. RT

That would be cool... I put leds on my Slow Stick, I dont see why I cant do that to this one too.. After I repair it, I mean. Get this, I havent flown it and I already need repairs. I was 100% RTF, put on a prop and throttled up a bit to see which way it was thrusting. Then the prop came loose and ripped out one of my horns, bent my pushrod, and tore out foam at the corner of the aileron. Im just a little annoyed. Peeved, maybe.

But LEDs will be the first mod after a successful flight. Or wire. I know how to do LEDs to wire to a 9V battery, but Ive never used EL wire.

El Wire is simple, but it needs a little inverter which will add some weight. Just parallel the LEDs or the El wire into your flight pack and don't bother with another heavy power source.
