Hot glue sticks to epp like crazy good. Yes it is heavery than most other glues but you only need it in a couple of places and don't use big blogs of it and its quick and easy. I have built dozens of light swifts with it.

Hey all, just got a Swift II and looking for a good motor and ESC setup for this. I already have the servos (some HXT900 should do?). Would like a suggestion for a good motor which is relatively fast.

I've got loads of 3S 2200 mAh batteries and some 3S 850 mAh and 3S 1000 mAh. So would prefer to get something which fits that. I have an ESC (DragonSky 30A). No info on that one, so if anybody know if it's up for it, or if I should just get a plush.

Would like to order everything I need from HobbyKing. Thanks. :-)

Hello

I had tested 3 motors yet. 980kv 9x5 , 1900kv 7x6, 2200kv 6x4

Now I'am using the last one with a 1300mah 3s and hxt 900 servos. The plane it's fast enought with this configuration and has a really nice vertical climbs . You will need to add some carbon spars to elevons because on full throttle the epp elevons are not rigid enought. 30A esc it's the same that I have. The flight time normal is about 10-12 min but you can go to 15 min or more. Link for motor: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=12919

And a video for you have an idea of the speeds that you will get:

MS Composit Swift 800mm with LED's (3 min 45 sec)

With my old 980kv motor

MS Composit Swift - Flying in the afternoon (3 min 36 sec)

happy landings

Great. The motor fits right on? Do you have a picture of your wing closeup? Want to see how you did it with the carbon spars on the elevons ++. :-)

I dont have the model with me now (only at the weekend). I didn't make modifications on the motor mount. I can show you a example:
EPO Parkjet Hobbyking mini Skyfun extrem modify and fast (7 min 43 sec)
see at 1min40s. You can glue it with CA (foamsafe)

I am going to be getting the swift II. I am lost on the setup I want, other than the servos. I want something not to fast since I am a little newer. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here's my set up, and it's still going strong. The performance is good, take a look at the video to see.

Thanks for the response, what hardware do I need to mount the prop and the motor to the mount. Also what would I need for a break away prop? Is the video on 2s or 3s?

To mount the motor to the mount, you just need 2mm diameter screws, and for the prop, these or similar prop savers for a 3mm shaft http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=8240

The video it's flying on a 3s 1000mAh

I am flying with the same motor/prop as Aero Andy but am using a 3s1000 lipo. We are vacationing on the beach right now and I just came in from about 15 minutes of flying over the surf. Only went wide open a few times to get up high then cut it off and glide around a bit. I tried to get into the same air as the birds but the air was bumpier than I prefer to fly in.

It's a good light setup, great for casual flying and plenty of power to climb.

Mark

That's the same make, mines the 25amp, although the Hobby King 25amp SS series is also very good, I have a few of these and they're super cheap at $5.99.
