Hello Mitja,

For the maiden flight I will stay at the advised CG. I'm afraid that I builded the tail section to strong (read to heavy). But what I read trough the Guppy topic, my 625gr shouln't be any problem at all.

You have a bright vision. Its indeed a Dutch Guppy. Thats why I devided the splash (which I liked very much) in red white and blue. I live in the northern part of the Netherlands in a small town called Ureterp near the city of Drachten.

Bye,

Hendrik Harmensz

Then, that yellow is too much... pale; an orange would have been more patriottic!

What is that white thing pending from the LE near the cockpit?

Nice job indeed!

Piero.

Edit: maybe it's only something to keep the wing leveled.

Hi Piero,

May be, I just liked the yellow collor. I hope it is very visible in the air.

The white "thing" you see is a computer bracket with wich you can place your desktop on its side. It is filled with a styrofoam mold. Because of the round shape the fuselage fells aside and at this way I can store the plane at a nice way.

Bye,

Hendrik Harmensz

Hi to all new builders! Converting the plans to 8.5 X 11 printers

After about 6 hrs of downloading the plans, file conversion form pdf to dxf, loading the CAD program and finding out that all is the same, and did not work out...It came to me and what a Dah!!!

All you have to do is down load the tile plans on this board, then get some legal paper and set your printer to print legal size...keep actual size, do not click on "fit to page" and you will have a beautiful set of plans...Yes a little work on the paper cutter and wide tape and you will have your plans! The reason they do not print out right is that they are sized on larger metric scaled paper. I asked a few others how to do this and all referred me to post 1080....You do not have to go through all that....Yes I am in the process of getting the materials and I am going to get this fish out of the water!

There are also a lot of posts regarding the thickness of the balsa, and converting metric to fractions..Get a metric ruler and take it to your hobby shop and get as close as you can........Worked great for me
Will post further as questions arise and updates on my progress...........Lee

Hi all!

As Guppy thread grown to unexpected size, with record breaking number of visits, (about quarter of million visits in less that 2 years) I decided to start PART 2 of that story.

So, here we should continue with PART 2:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...38#post9519133

So, administrator or moderatod can lock PART 1 .

I am happy to se, that in those two years, the cute little electric sailplane was build allmost over all of the world. I did not expect such popularitiy and I must admit, that this rcgroup helps a lot to spread the word about this sailplane.

Thanks rcgroups, thanks members of this group, thanks builders of Guppy, and many more... I feel great because of you all!

With best regards!

Hi!
I really dont understand your last sentence quite well.
You like to build Guppy glider on the CNC milling machine for yourself?

There is an upgraded version of Guppy glider (Guppy 2) and DXF files for all parts apropriate for CNC milling are available here:

Please dont jump to conclusions so fast!

Read thread of Guppy MS here on the rcgroups, where this Guppy MS was introduced and a news about its production and sale at HK was published:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...s#post29275659
It is result of my cooperation with HK.

Regards!
