What "range" are you talking about?? What you have written is not very clear at all.

More power creates more interference. A ferrite ring will probably solve the problem.

why would there be more power(interference} if your not drawing any more amps than the 25 amp controller? have the same motor just wanted a bigger speed controller. People have had trouble with the bec in the 25 amp controllers, causeing crashes. bec shouting down, or burning up.

the range iam talking about is from the transmitter to the reiciever,if i use my 25 amp controller . I get about 80 to 100 feet away, with the ant down in a 9z futaba radio. with the 35 amp and 45 amp it goes down to about 10 to 15 feet. locks me out and down goes the heli.

I have seen ramjet1's problem myself.

The setup is a Trex heli with an Astro motor and TP (3S) 2100 batteries.

The ground range with the Phoenix 35 is 20 - 30 feet (TX antenna collapsed). The range with a Phoenix 25 is 70 ft+, same heli only the speed control was changed.

The 25 was “borrowed” from another model so he bought a new Phoenix 45 thinking it would solve the range problem. It didn’t help, the range with the 45 was the same as the 35. A ferrite bead was added and helped some but still not as good of range as the 25 with no ferrite.

It definitely appears there is some “noise” coming back up the servo lead to the RX. What isn’t making sense is why the 35 & 45 are noisier than the 25.

Has anyone else noticed this or ever done a comparison?

was reading about useing ferrite ring
it's like using a band aid , like to know why there's a difference?

wondering if the older speed controllers, don't have as good of filtering as the newer controllers. althought just bought the 45 amp last week, but it has old logo. still want to know why you get great range with the 25 using nothing. why you need to do all of the things to a 35 and 45 amp controller? twist the wire to the motor and use a ferrite ring??? no one from castle can help me ?
