Comparison of A 123 & Saphion, Overlaid Graphs

The A 123Systems cell was donated by MaxAmps, the Saphion cells by Simon (I Ė break Ė zagiís).

A Saphion cell is half the capacity of an A 123, so two Sapions in parallel were graphed, to match the capacity of the A 123.

I donít know whether the Saphion can be discharged @ greater than 16C or not; in any event, they are apparently coming out with something new:

Simon sez the Saphion is rated 2C charge & 15C discharge:

The Manufacturer's Application sheet rates the A 123 as 10 amps charge (~4C) and 60 amps discharge (26C).

Interesting and illustrates well the "curious" fenomenon about Saphions: higher discharges mean... higher capacity! Yes sir...
