How to Make a Shock Flyer Firewall Mount

If you have to mount a different motor bolt config or Make your own on a 3d plane that has a similar mount to a Shock Flyer this has worked great for me.

The First Pic shows my best attempt at using a coping saw and the one on the right is the final product of the bit. I don't know the name of it, I bought it a garage sale while back with a bunch of other tools.

Second Photo is the bit itself. It is 2 1/8" Anybody know what it's called?

I used my drill press and I am uncertain if you could use a handheld drill cause it won't fit into any of the chucks on mine.

Also, be sure if you download the drill pattern off the internet it prints out correctly. Mine was off even though it was a PDF.

GRATE idea ; I use 1/16 ply and a jigsaw for this. Also I added 4 little notches, were it meets the foam.

Yup, I just figured out to use a hole saw to make a mount the other day. Works awesome. I don't have a drill press so I use a hand drill. Works fine.

The trick is to saw/drill the hole half way thru the plywood, then flip it over and saw/drill from the other side. Comes out really clean that way...

10 more minutes of work notching it out (carefuly) with a small (balsa?) saw and it's all done in 12 minutes total! Only literally only takes a couple minutes to hole saw it out.
