You know, Porsche has had a liquid clutch thats a liquid plastic in torque converter, and if you apply 12 Volts, it becomes a solid and you can vary the viscosity with voltage. Like they said in The Graduate: "Plastics!"

Shewt, all I had to do was drink a fifth of tequila and I was bulletproof.
 Porsche is known for their ceramic clutches. You can abuse the hell out of them and they just keep working. Treat a BMW the same way and you'll be replacing the clutch monthly. Pete |

I remember reading about it when the 959 was still in its infancy- IIRC they planned on using it to do the torque split for the front-v-rear wheel drive.
pretty heady stuff however you slice it. Now where is my silver unitard?..Heading to work at Spacely Sprockets. |
