Yes it will work, but I'm doubtful it'll be easier than fitting a more powerful motor and larger propeller at the stern.

You're probably right. I have a planetary gearbox from Graupner,, just need to get it mounted. I would love to go with brushless,, The only thing I don't like about the neptune is the direct drive deal. I hope there is room in the sub for a longer motor ensemble. Thanks Tom

I don't see anything wrong with direct drive provided the motor is well matched to the propeller.

Small brushless outrunners will happilly provide more thrust than you're ever likely to require in that boat, and take up less room than the brushed 500 size motor.

I'd aim to keep revs down and go for torque as much as practical.

This motor is a fantastic little torque monster. Efficient and cheap.

New rtr thunder tiger

Problem installed camera charged battery 13.09 volts camera does not work and red light flashing right inside of sub. Sub has never been in water. Help

Problem with new sub never been in water

I checked battery is at 13.03 volts red light inside sub flashers when powered up also camera is not working. I tried all other functions dive planes rudder and speed work

Hoping to give mine a run soon. Day job gets in the way all the time.

I just added a re-settable 10amp fuse & have the TTiger 6 blade prop on the way.

Hoping to add some lights and video link soon.

Sounds like the power supply board,, Mike's subworks knows all about this sub. call him and he will help you. Best person to ask,

It got into fail safe mode under 20cm salt water. Can't dive deep more.
