15 Y/O .60 sized Curare to electric. Power suggestions please!

A friend asked me about converting a Curare Pattern plane he used as a teenager to e-power. I have been researching V28 batteries, and might just suggest them as a power source. I have a 77opto controller I can donate to the cause, so 10S is a posibility. That also sits in line with an Astro 109 for charging use as they are low cost and can hit a 3C charge current which the V28's are happy with. I am looking for power system suggestions based on 10S2P V28 power. Maybe I am going down the wrong path in thinking V28's?

The airframe weighs 3lbs 14oz with retracts and no servos, and 10S2P Emoli's should weigh about 3.2lbs. The goal is better than 1:1 thrust to weight for the whole flight, pitch speeds of about 60-70mph, and a flight time of 8-10 minutes. I would like to keep the weight to 8.5lbs max.

I am open for suggestions, please fire away! Available funds for the project are 450-550 including motor and at least one battery as I have a UBEC and ESC for it.

Thanks!

Edit: I realize that this might should be in the electric conversion forum instead. Please move it if appropriate.

could it be that 3000ma is all you would need/want for this set up as 10cell in line make a bunch of power......10s2p is a lot of weight in e-molies.

I have actually backed up from 10S to 7S2P. I think from looking at the specs, a Feigao 540XL 9T with the 5.2:1 and a 16x10 will get the job done nicely.

I was going to suggest an astro 40 brushless geared, but it looks like the feigao motor has nearly identical specs, and probably costs a bit less.
