4s Lipo. May I use it with the stock setup?

Have anyone tried to use a 4s lipo with the stock setup? Is it too much? Can the e-flite esc handle it?

What's the best setup for the airliner?

Gustesta, 4s is a bit much as the esc's get pretty hot. The best set up I have found is the stock brushless with a 2500ma polyquest 3s lipo.

No, 4S is too much and the eSC's can't handle it. The stock setup performs quite well, even better with the latest high C packs. I fly mine with 3S 5000 Tanics and it is very noticably better than my older gen 2 2,100's. A pack of TP Extremes would be great too, I'd try the 4,600's...

No, not too heavy. It takes off grass in half the distance with the extra power, I have LARGE wheels rather than the stock 14 contact patches. Dunno how long it would fly ultimately, I get tired after 10-12 minutes and land.

my motors are tied in into 1 battery like yours and I am about to get a 20c 37003s for it this week and I am running into the same problem, I fly off of grass and need to find bigger wheels. Can you give some insight on where and how big you have plz

Yup the stock brushless setup is excellent with enough power and runtime(12-15minutes) and easy on the equipment too. I also paralleled my 2 3S-2100packs(4200mah)and was thinking of adding a 3rd pack to both extend flighttime and penetrate the windy conditions at my field better. Chris posted a pic of his large wheels for me a couple months ago on another thread I think, I'll look for it.

Getting the 2 motors with shipping for a total of $62.00 and shipping time is 7 to 10 days by air mail. When you pay just type in the shipping instruction box that you want the 2.3 mm shafts. Beats the $109.00 bucks E-flight wants plus shipping and they look to be a bit more powerful than the stock E-flight motors.

I got the same motors from a dealer in HK, made a deal with him, and I got them for 24 dollars each, including shipping.

SO NOT BAD!!!

Have you flown with these motors yet? If so how are they and how many amps do they draw at WOT. I will be using 30 amp ESC's so I should be fine.

Splitting wing in a half

So, I've been having shipping problems (overseas). So, Is it possible to split the wing, and then reglue it? Also, is it possible to split the fuselage?

I used spoked plastic 3.5" slow flyer wheels with foam tires on the mains and a pair of 3 inchers on the nose. Nothing particularly sophisticated, unscrew the stock boggies and use the bolts that held it on along with some of the spacers to fit your new wheels.

The Super Airliner is in a very big box. It would not be difficult to cut the fuselage aft of the wing and re-assemble. The wing has a well done center section. You might be able to cut the outer panels and splice the graphite arrow shaft spar. The fan ducts can be easily removed. I like gorilla glue for strong attachment to foam.

It is a nice flying model that always attracts attention.
