WOW! You're definitely the depron-meister Terry and your Vulcan looks just about totally scale. With 50% T/W and that miniscule wing loading it must get up there like a real one too!

Look forward to seeing you demonstrating your LABS loft-bombing technique

Bob told me that you'd been busy. Make sure you give us a blow-by-blow account on how you mould the depron.

Cheers

An awe-struck Gordon

After sheeting the fin I covered the shoulders, I prebend the Depron by covering the outer skin with packing tape to stop cracking & rolled the bend using a cardboard tube. It will be clearer when I make the wing skins.
I found that using the UHUPore as contact adhesive worked best.
Frank,
Yes A Victor would be great as my next project.I was Stationed with them at R.A.F. Wittering during the cold war.We often stood on the A1 with our then young children to watch them land close overhead after a mission.
Bigger challenge, a lot more curves.

I then sheeted the fuselage, again with pre-bent sections between bulkheads.
I then had a fairly stiff standalone structure,

Gordon, you make me weak at the knees!!!!!!
Next the ducting. I already wanted the fans/motors in the shoulders with short intakes & long exhausts. This to get the C, of G. right with the heavy Lipo pack in the fuz & not in the nose.
I initially bought one fan to make up four thick drawing paper thrust tubes.
The taper from fan to 1.5" was achieved by rolling the card on a broom handle & using the fan & A honey pot cap of the right size to form the correct taper then tape up.

Next step was to carefully cut tapered slots in the base depron to accomodate the thrust tubes so that they were positioned centrally at the fan & below the wing at the outlets as for scale.

With the thrust tubes installed it was then possible to start building the lower half.

I was wondering where the ducts were going to fit. I could see in the pics that the area was not cut out for them yet. You must have done it this way to get it rigid with the skin on. Dave

Thats right Dave most of the strength is in the skin.
For a break I then built the nose for later attatchment.Easier to complete the fuz.

Complete nose again all 5mm with preformed sectional skins.Being so thick it was easy to sand the joints after.
