I wish Hyperion's American distributor would bother to at least try to keep people informed of these new products. As it is, even dealers can't get info.

Here is the link to some picture of the new Hyperion planes on an Australian website:

Not sure how they got the pics. Would also like more info out of the US Distributor. Note: prices are in Australian dollars and may not reflect US prices even when translated directly to USD.

We have built and flown this .120 size Yak54 from Hyperion. We have tried different combos and we ended up with the following setup:

Hyperion Z4045-14 (rearmounted)
Titan 90A ESC
10S Hyperion VX3700 (2 5S packed serialized)
APC-E 20x10

This setup is not for the faint-hearted - we are well over 2700W but have had zero issues so far. We found that doing a rubber dampened backmount works superior to mounting the motor in a case - the gyroscopic effects of the large prop are noticable.

The power is awesome - heres a small vid some 7 minutes into the packs of the flight: http://www.newheading.com/public/vid...20_takeoff.wmv

The pics show an early model - the production units have a latch for the canopy like the .40 class Yak54 (real easy for battery access). The model is delivered with a carbon wing tube. The servos for the elevator are mounted in the fuselage. I uses a pull-pull arrangement for the rudder. All surfaces will throw to 45 deg. or more.

We used Hitec 5625 with SWB arms all around and after a lot of abuse they hold up just fine.

All up weight in this configuration is 4.8kgs (or 10.58 lbs)

Looks awesome. I wish the vid included some harrier flight, at 10.5 lbs we may have a real winner for slow flight here.

We have some more video but it is un-edited at this point. Yes, the Yak is very light on the wings and is a pleasure all around.

We've tried other and more speedy props - like a 20x11 APC-E. While the airframe copes with the speed no problem, this particular driveline does not. And going down in prop to, say, a 19x11 or 18x12 is really not as nice as the 20x10 as the speed characteristics changes too much (not as much punch and does not slow down as well).
