If you save weight by eliminating most of the fuselage (which means "fusing" the wings and stabilizers together) and can keep the forward-swept wings rigid enough (pushing a wet noodle), that works. But for aerodynamic efficiency at low speed, you'll note that most flying animals, incl. insects, and models have wings that are neither swept foward nor back, or at least, not much! Soaring broad-wing hawks, which class includes eagles, will sweep their wings SLIGHTLY forward when circling in weak thermals to move the CG rearward and take advantage of a broader tip vortex from the forward sweep, adding efficiency at the cost of stability: they must use active stabilization, involving onboard sensors and a fast central processor whch works much faster than you could by R/C with only visual feedback and human reaction time.

I have flown numerous X-wing planes and they are fun and visually interesting, if not super-practical. Lee
