With all this talk of the Springer push tugs. I decided to build one, but not for class competition.
I found a nice little 25 ft twin engine. So I think that it would make a great 1/12 scale tug. I don't have any push tugs in my collection. It will work out to 25 inch with 2 - 975 motors running on 8.4 volts that will give me about 11,000 on the 5 blade Rivabo 50 mm props. It will have kort nozzles and 6 rudders. So I will be using an 8 channel radio. Controls will be: 1. rear rudders 2. port motor 3. starboard motor 4. front rudders 5. running / inter. lights 6. roof spot lights / top spot lights 7. horn / engine sound 8. to be shown later, surprise I think with the twin throttles and 6 rudders it will be very maneuverable and have the power to push a house down. |
