Thanks for the heads-up about the finish.

Here's a couple of pictures of my springer and a video. Defiantly not the most detailed springer, but it's a KISS (keep it simple stupid) work boat, made to retrieve larger boats. It's not entirely done yet. Still needs a mount for the water cannon (note 4 screws on deck) , water cannon pump wired up, front bumpers, and some decals for the sides.

Testing out my Springer R/C Tug Boat (1 min 6 sec)

paint looks right NavSta Norfolk had a little pushboat that they would use to push around 'doughnuts' (a floating tank for ships to pump their bilges into in port), that looked more than a little like that. All you need is hull numbers and a USN designation and you got a scale (semi?) pushboat.

Needs to finish the fendering, but you've built a nice boat.
Excellent little sea trial. Don't forget to charge everyone for rescues...

What do you mean by fendering

Unfortunately I wont be making much money off rescues. I've actually yet to see anyone around here driving r/c boats (except an outdoor expo I got to once a year). The main reason for this build was to be a retrieval boat for my still in progress, 31cc gasser airboat.

Well it's a standard joke her on RCg that when you rescue a boat, you bring the
errant model near to shore, then ask the owner for your recovery fee... When he
express shock at your good turn gone opportunistic, and laughs off your fee, you
turn the rescue around, and start pushing his boat back to the middle of the pond...

Nah, no one we know does that... 'Isn't that right "toesup"... '

As for fendering, all the tires and rubber strip that is placed or hung around
the boat to "protect" from hard contact..

Good looking air boat... You will have to be careful that it doesn't get into
a weedy area that your springer can't go.

yup, just the fins. No radial. It's a Ryobi 31cc 2-stroke trimmer motor.

Have to admit a radial would be cool though.

Plus:

Hauser wear fee

paint on bollard wear fee
paint on deck around bollard wear fee
prop RPM fee
lunch for skipper fee
extra baggage fee

Sneaky, like the airlines...

Your boat looks great, rcbif!

cool with the slightly low res picture I couldn't tell and I know radials are very spendy.

A couple others you can add on are:
Battery charger fee (boat & radio)
Straight run to the operator fee (higher fee for towing back to the shore where the operator is standing rather than the nearest shore)
Avoiding the wildlife fee
Keeping the "rescue" out of the club newsletter fee

You forgot the #25 fee...

.. or does that fall under the 'Skippers Lunch' fee?
