ParkZone FW190 mods

Seems everyone is beefing up this model.

Here's some of the mods I've made. I figure if I can keep the wingloading under 16 oz/ft^2 It should be ok. (Have an Alpha 190 that weighs 20oz that goes ok so theoretically...)

I figure with the mods I've made plane should come out at around 34 oz. A bit heavy for a park flyer but I plan to treat this as a take off the ground caper

Below are some pics. Video Transmitter I've had in Alpha 190 and have got decent reception to a few hundred meters beamed down live to an lcd screen I've mounted on my TX. I've managed to fly from the screen a few times.

This is the next phase

Very interesting mods indeed. Are you also putting the brushless setup in there? Your wing mods are quite intersting. I like the idea of the 2 halves. Will be very interested to hear how it flies with that and see some video. That looks like one crazy video setup

Yeah looking at using a nippy 2510/114 External Rotor Brushless Motor so as to have plenty of power to account for the extra weight of all the gear. Want to try and spin an 11" 3 blade prop...hmmm not sure how that'll go but will see how it all goes

You should be ok with a 10x7 3-blade or even an 11x7 3-blade. I have an 11x7 MAS 3-blade on a himax 2025-4200(GWS Corsair)....and the motor handled it fine...but it was also a geared setup. I also have a himax 2812 spinning a 10x7 3-blade on an AK-Models Spitfire.
FSK ME-109 using Park 400 outrunner with 9x7 3-blade
FSK Spitfire using Park 400 with 9x7 4-blade
Alfa Corsair using Park 400 with 9x7 3-blade

A park 450 outrunner should not have an issue spinning an 11x7 so if the power output of the nippy is same or better...you'll be ok...but watch your amp draw.

Did you ever get this model flying? I just got one and am modifying it now.

dmackie,
Please tell us which retracts you used in the PZ 190 and the wheel size, diameter, and brand. Also what they are mounted to in the wing.
Carl.
