BKMorpheus, can you upload a picture of your maxi, with all the components in place? I'm starting to build one and I have a similar setup and a GoPro.

Also - which battery/ies are you using?

(this is kinda broken: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...9#post17242982 )

okay, i will upload one later.
I fly with two LiPos in parallel. Without Video equip i use 2x 2650mah and with video equip i use 2x 2250mah or 2x 1800mah.

With 2x 2250mah + Video equip i got flight times of round about 20-30minutes.

update: picture

I changed the ESC, because the motor was stuttering at ~80% throttle (0-70% and 100% throttle were fine). Now it runs smooth from 0-100% with the new 55A Turnigy Trust ESC.
The 40A Plush ESC should be fine, i think i only got bad luck to pick a defective one.

This is wat i was looking at for a setup:

Motor: HK TR35-36B 1300kv
ESC: TR_S40A - TURNIGY Sentry 40amp Speed Controller (these look interesting!)
or TR_P40A - TURNIGY Plush 40amp Speed Controller

Servo's: Would either the Hitec HS-65MG or Hitec HS-82MG servo's also be sufficient enough?
Do you use a Bec for the servo's and other electronics?
Prop: Aeronout CAM-Carbon 10x7 folding prop.
RX: Hitec optima 7 2.4GHz (Aurora9), (I also have a mx12 35Mhz laying around if that would be a smarter choice to use)
Batteries: 2*Turnigy 2200mAh 3S 25C in parralel

ooh and maybe some advise about my vid TX/RX system (i will be starting with short rang flights):

TX/RX: BEV 5.8GHz 200mw (allready have this)
Osd: BEV ce-osd (allready have this)
Goggels: Fatshark base (allready have this)
All the vid gear is 12v would it be wise to use a 12v regulator? (iwould like to use a singel bat system.

Any comment would be greatly appriciated!

again thanx in advance!

Fer

Servo size requirement will depend on where they are mounted. IMO the 65 and 82 are too small for the elevon size. I started with 225's but after burning two out switched to 645's. The 225's would be large enough if you connect the elevons in a straight line from in front of the elevons but if you want them in the equipment bay the curved pushrod adds some resistance.

I don't use a BEC as my ESC is more than adequate for the on-board electronics.

Very cool video, including the parts from the camera girl!
Thanks for sharing! You were lucky that the Maxi went through the tree tops down to the ground. Hopefully there was not much damage?

Thanks!
One winglet is gone and one rudder has fissures. The motor mount is broken as well. I think this is rerpairable, but i prefer to build a new flying wing and try to build it lighter this time.

You were right about the tree tops. If i the Maxi Swift would have been much slower at that point, i'm sure it would hang in the tree tops and then i would not have any chance of getting it down. So maybe it was good that it came down that fast and hard way.

I would have thought that the twigs had more softened the impact. Sorry to hear, but good luck for you new build anyway! Will it be a Maxi Swift again?

This time it will be the Knurrus Maximus. It has the same wingspan, but less depth and it is a faster flying wing.
Maybe i can reach the goal to keep it under 1,5kg this time (Maxi Swift with FPV Equip = 1,75kg).

Good Question. Not sure if there is a subforum on RCGroups, but i will definitely link the new videos (and build report) on fpv-community.de

There is a FPV forum on RCgroups, but you probably know that already.
