Things not pictured!

Sorry I did not take pictures of the wing assemebly but I will give you a detailed verison of my build method!

take the two wing half and trim the middle section of both halfs so that when they are next to each other its a good fit.

lay a piece of wax paper on a flat surface and putting a box or a book under one of the wing half to get the angle right see the instruction for the angle

( I hot glue the 2 halfs together put a good amount of glue on one side and then press the wing half together and hold them in place intill the glue sets. perfect and strong every time.

also use the low heat gue sticks to mount the plastic wing mount to the top of the wings!

I also used the hot glue to mount he crowl mounts and all the other itmes that require GWS glue wow makes builging quick and clean and strong!

Nicely detailed build log, Tallflyer.

Never have got around yet to getting me this plane. I do like how it looks and I think it would be even better with floats on it. Hmmm, i've always wanted a float plane.

Brushless Upgrade!

Ok I decided after flying yesterday that I would try a BP21 brushless motor on my GWS DHC-2 Beaver for all of you who have not seen this little motor it has to be the Best bang for your Dollar

I flew it again this morning and WOW what a difference the plane is lighter and since I'm using a 2 cell lipo not the Recomended nimh/nicd GWS has in there manual the motor and battery weight a lot less then the old stock setup
the plane will fly around at half throttle like it used to fly at 3/4.

If your looking to go straight up virtical with a beaver better make sure you have a strong reinforced wing before you punch the throttle.

Now this plane is real fun to fly and landing is a great since the plane is even lighter then before.

Interesting: I put a brushless in my Beaver and couldnt even get it off the ground with a 2s..... had to go to a 3S to launch it.

Depends on the B/L motor you use.

My J3 Cub which is a similar size to the Beaver goes vertical on a BP12 with a 2 cell and a 1047SF. But you need a battery that can put the amps out.

Tallflyer now you've got some hours on the Beaver - how do those u/c fairings look. You must be real pretty at landing (and a whole lot better than me!) if they're not busted up yet.

Great minds really do think alike Roger, that's exactly what I put in my Cub and it bores a hole in the sky when you push the stick forward.

I'm running Thunder Power 2S 1320s in it and it draws about 10 amps wide open and around 2.2 cruising.

Anyone put ailerons on the Beaver? Doesn't stike me as difficult, just wondered why nobody has done it.

I want to try it but have not had a chance to work on the project!

Im just going to add some pieces of white depron to the trailing edge of each wing and put and put a small little micro servo under each wing to control the aileron. that way if I dont like it I can remove the whole setup and the plane is back to the original version!
