Broken MS Blades

Hey guys, "Best Buy" (the store) replaced my broken down digi-cam for a BRAND NEW ONE, I simply had to pay the difference!! Great service. This one is better than my old one. Although I'm still trying to learn how to keep the image size down.

Anyways, I took some shots of my broken MS blades . The other fly-bar paddle got lost, only God knows where it landed.

Chachin..

A couple more pics coming up..

Broken CF Frames

And here are the broken CF frames.

When the Eco crashed, the boom snapped off completely apart from the main frames!! Again, the TU-09B boom was intact.

Notice how the frames snapped at specific locations...

Rebuilding

And here's a shot of how my Eco8 is looking with the old plastic frames installed.

Not bad! Not bad at all

More damages:
> Both bearings that hold the main mast, are gritty and damaged!

Fix:
> Had to order new ones, $15 US for both of them.

All the necessary parts are on the way from Hobby-Lobby. Sorry Fitz, but some other parts I need were not in stock .

Here's how it looks. But I cannot attach the rotor head until I get the main bearings. Oh well.. a little bit of downtime won't hurt too much.

Update!

Today I worked intensely on my Eco8.

I went ahead and installed the landing gear, cyclic servos, rotor head, new CF flybar with new paddles, and all the necessary electrical equipment.

All I need to do to get her back in the air is: install the gyro, tail blades and main blades.

Almost there

Chachin..

PS: Yes, I know it's messy.. but I'm not done yet!

Hey guys..

Check out the new power-plant

I took the FUN600-15 out of my Logo 10 and into my Eco... this is because my Logo is getting a brand new FUN600-18 motor this week.

I'll let you guys know how it flies! That is, if I don't crash it again...

Hello Carlos

Its looking good. Try your Eco 8 on 12 cells and a 19 tooth pinion

Cant wait to hear how it turns out.

You have to love the look of a big motor in such a small helicoper

hey

must be that time of the month . crash # 5 for me . 2 helis, and 3 airplanes . one plane went to the planegraveyard in the sky . and a trainer at that , 4 years old, and maybe 30 flights on it and been sitting in the closet for 3 years , not mine though , elevator half came off , so I had to roll her over and let it nose dive into the ground , building some 30 feet away , the guy that owned it bought it from my friend and it was going to be his first training day , hanger 9 trainer 40 , then my sukoiu 30 , my bad there , ailerons were backwards , turned left on take off and it went right , and did a roll before hitting the ground , fixable , havent flown airplanes since I got into helis , 2 years , then a nose dive into the ground with a IFO , broking gearbox , alevator again , not my plane either , a friend let me fly it , I was thinking that I just need to stick with helis but , shuttle , 30 gas , motor cut off while slow FF about 100 feet up down wind , first auto , kinda , man it suprised me how she glided with -1 pitch , made the turn into the wind and pulled full collective at 10 feet and she broke the landing gear ,
Voyager , my hopped up heli . during a flip, I stalled it at about the 2 or 3 oclock downward part of the flip , and she pancaked doing about 20 mph into the tundra , knocked the head slap off , bent the tail boom , and broke the flybar control arm , ms carbons and flybar and cyberhelis metal head all good , thats one tuff bird there , but all these crashes happened with in 10 days , thats not good at all , I think I will just build the rest of my fleet and call it good for this month , huh? what do yall think? besides not letting me fly any of ya'lls helis or planes , damn got 12 years into airplanes and and crashed maybe 20 times in those years ,

It's ready!

Everything is ready to go! I'm charging a battery pack as we speak/type . I will definitely need to adjust tracking and pitch curve.

Carlo, I already locktited a 21t-pinion on the FUN motor. I'm planning on using 10-cells first to see how well it performs. I'm aiming for a maximum HS of 1722rpms, that will be tamed down to 1464 using 85% governor. This time I will pull out my little tower hobbies "tachometer" and see how accurate this formula is.

If it's not enough, then the 12-cell pack will surely live it up .. The only problem is that I only own ONE 12-cell pack.

Hey, I'm using the wood blades as you can see. These are "semis" so they should enhance its climbing potential. We'll see..

Misskimo, yes, there was a horrible dispute between my Eco8 and the ground. And the ground won . I have some pictures of my Eco right after the crash, but those pictures were taken with my regular camara (not digital) so we have to wait until the film is developed...

Sorry to hear about your R/C accidents. Yes, it happens. I was also flying crash-free for about ~10 months now. In one week I managed to crash my Eco and my Kyosho glider. Oh well.. as long as we don't give up, everything will be okay

Check out the helicopter!
