Jerry.... the outdoor is a somewhat copy of the ikarus f3a i recently smashed... bad thumbs strike again .. lol.... changes: moved the canopy forward, added 10mm of aileron surface full width, additional lower fuse area, and decreased the forward angle of the rudder by a little less than 5 deg's... all 6mm depron, decent amount of carbon throughout... axi 2208/34 on hp3s700 etec's.... AuW is roughly 9-10 oz's depending on battery... fuse and rudder changes greatly improved KE, handles the wind pretty well which was the main plan...BTW thanks for the help with the bipe a while back, i added a 2nd ail. servo so i could set all EPA's which corrected the yaw prob... thanks.... off topic sorry

Mister Uhu... yes the pot30... feels very strong with a 7x3.8apc, bp esc, and etec hp3s450.... feels like it will want to rip the wings off, but it may be overpropped currently.... may have to drop to a 6"

Thanks fro540, I have an Ikarus F3A that has been the victim of dumb thumbs. It is kinda ratty and getting rather porky due to repairs. Thanks for the suggestions on things to try changing on it, I haven't been happy with the knife edge on mine and just figured that it was because of my poor piloting skills. Glad to hear you got the bipe worked out.

The Potensky website is a bit confusing.

List battery as 2 X 340 mAh (ie 7.4 volts)
but Max Efficiency at 10.5 volts and 4.5 amps.

List Prop as 7" X 3.5" GWS
but also list data for 8" X 4" prop.

Say motor is for 2 LiPos,
but have data also with 3 LiPos.

Recommend 15 degrees timing advance.

Looks like you will have to do your own experiments.

From my own experiences there it quite a difference between
different types and brands of props,
such as slowfly or not.

I doubt Dr Kiwi will have tested the POT30,
but it is worth a look.

jerry... my stock f3a required a decent amount of down elevator to maintain straigh flight in KE... new version is much less rudder and little to no elevator... and trust me i have plenty to learn on the sticks... lol... oh one other thing i did notice last night that I am at about 3 1/4" back off LE for CG

UhU... the data sheet that came with the pot30 lists recommended prop sizes for both 2s and 3s and efficiency charts, my scanner just died or i would upload it... it does in fact hover at 1/3 throttle with the 7x4 apc, but the motor got to warm for my liking after repeated 10 second hovers last night in my garage.... unfortunately it was still to windy to test it outdoor

malves.... yak hovers like a champ!

Yeah, it's been windy over here, too. It sux, because I don't have an indoor place to fly during this time of the year.
I am about 1:30h away from Enfield.

happy to say i did get a short flight in last night before a Big storm... got it all trimmed out and was comfortable with it quickly, controls were clean crisp and predictable ... unfortunately, just as i was starting to have fun and push the plane a bit the new esc went up in flames, literally using the 6x4 apc on 3s it should have been pulling a little over 5 amps and the esc is rated for 8 amps so not sure what happened..... good news is that the plane is ready for indoors now thanks for the plans malves!

It flies pretty nice. The stiffer fuselage gives it a different feel from a shocky style foam. I haven't flown it since last weekend. I've been really busy at work and don't have time to update the plans. It's no big deal of adjustments. For those who want to give it a try...
