has there been a maiden on the full fuse?? auw compared to v2?

LOL...Nah, I don't have an indoor site for maiden and it has been very windy over here. All I've been doing is hovering in the basement with it. I don't know the AUW, but it is very light, too. I am estimating ~6.5oz AUW. It could be less, thou. The lil Park 300 hovers it just fine at 1/2 throttle or less, just like it was with the shocky version.

I've just started a new job this week and I don't know when I'll have time to make the few adjustments needed to the plans. I also need to fly and crash it , to see where the weak points are and make the necessary adjustments.

Tonight, I was stupid enough to bring it outside. When I let go into hovering, the wind took it. It hit the window of the second floor apartment (remember the 1st floor is half "buried" in the ground here), and down it came. Only damages were a loose CF wing support, a cracked wing tip (about 1/2"), and a lil loose motor mount (I knew it the nose would be much stronger with a shocky style mount; 2 drops of CA and it was back in place again).

I am really anxious to hear some feedback for the shocky style Yak.

ive flown 2 batteries now on the shocky-yak. ...outside...

i need to get some more velcro on to take the cog back a bit as it dives inverted, the main thing is the roll rate is very slow, any ideas? with the throws i have here? it loops and turns on rudder tightly, ke esily, i just need more aileron.... and ill practice some 3d and see how it bounces..

Hmmm...the rolls on mine are fast. I have the tendency to do rolling harriers shallower than others, and pretty fast, too. It surprises me that the roll rate for you is that slow. By the pics, you have lots of aileron throw. What's the AUW? Remeber, even thou this is an indoor design, it's meant for freestyle not precision, so you gotta have some extra weight on it for inertia.

AUW is 176g, could it be too much wing flex and needs more carbon or bracing?

Bro, I've tried bracing it, and it didn't work good. I moved to CF supports and it made a huge difference.

Or you could try to add another bracing point 1" from the wing tip. I thought about doing that, but just moved to CF.

how should i secure it if i add it now then, just glue direct to the wings?

Ohhhhh, now I am seeing things, then. You need to support those wings.

Check pages 3 and 4. I have a couple of pics of how I've done the struts with CF. Puncture the wings and fuse, and CA in place. Also put some CA where the rods cross. If I remember, I have use .50 CF rods.

When you flew it, didn't you see the wings flapping?

I'd suggest bracing the wings as well. When they flex, you are unable to get full deflection of the ailerons...

well due to a bad new rec.... and the delay for a replacement the yak is ready for maiden... would have been tonight but there is a solid wind here on the east coast tonight.... hopefully tomorrow night

AuW... ended up a bit heavier than i was hoping at 4.8 oz's, but that is with 3s450's... impressed with the potensky motor it feels like the plane will hover at 1/3 throttle... so may drop some weight with a 2s....
