Thanx, bro.

Here is the plan for the Yak-54. This should be final. I modified the wings a lil with more area and bigger ailerons. Adjusted the cut on the fuse where the stab/elev goes in. Adjusted the elevator for more rudder throw. Broke the x-section in more parts to put 2 CF spars on the wing.

I would start with the CG at around 2 3/4" from LE and go from there.

I'll be putting a new one together over the weekend so I can check the adjustments I've made to it.

Enjoy!

I just wish i could "hack a paint job" like that

What motor and batt are you using in the video please?

I have a micro cyclon, 27g and 2s 400mah batt, will they be any good?

Sorry, bro. I don't know that motor. But it should be fine with the right propeller.

I am using an E-Flite Park 300 (24g), 8x3.8SF, and TP480PL 3s.

Last nite, I've cut a new plane. It's painted and ready to assemble. I'll post a pic later. My biggest problem with painting is the masking part, but I guess I found a good solution for it. At least for me. More later.

Here's my new Yak. I just took it to the basement of the building where I live for some hovering action (can you call it a maiden? ) and it did great. Of course, it's much better than V1 with the considerably bigger ailerons. I just love this lil Yak.

Thanx, bro.

Well, I did a real maiden today and...wow! The bigger ailerons made a huge difference. Rolling harriers are fast or slow, you pick. I am having a blast with it. It's a very responsive plane - I had to increase expo on the elevators. Hovering is soooo easy, that it is actualy the first plane I can hover in a small sized room. If you have a setup laying around, give this Yak a go. You won't be sorry! It builds quick anyways. I have the CG setup somewhere between 2 3/4"-3" on this one.

If you build the same way I did in the pics above, you'll have a stiff and strong plane.

Dave,
I don't have a scale to weigh it. Probably gonna have to wait until the weekend. But I'm estimating ~6oz. Getting this plane at 5oz or less, shouldn't be a problem with the right setup and less paint.

Thanx, bro. Yes, 3mm depron. Business in Vegas?! ...Yeah, right! WS and lenght are still the same: 35" ws and 27 3/4" long.
I'll try to get a vid later if weather holds up today. I was flying a few minutes ago, but the wife's at work and I can't take the vid. I want you guys to see how this thing rolls.
