No, that would be a GOOD thing! Will it be done by the time of the ODB fly in?

Oops... I ran across this Tiger Moth... and I've seen it advertised before.... but never flown. Kinda expensive for a RTF, but you can get the kit too. It flies nice and slow but at WOT it's really going so fast it's amazing.

Nice and slow?

Buzz, that tiggie, for its size, flies like a lead sled! I think you have been flying too low to the ground for too long. Do they now have smog in Florida?

Happy New Year!

Dick

Does not look like there is anything wrong with how it flies to me.
Slowed down fine and did not seem to drop excessively when throttle was reduced.

At 1450 grams and 50" wingspan, it compares to my GWS 400 TM. My 400 weighs 560 grams at 37.8" - the equivalent of about 1300 grams if you blew it up to 50".

LOL! No... no smog. I've been flying the 25ft moth for too long. Actually, I thought it flew pretty well. I like the detail too.

Looks like it flies a lot like the Hobby King Tigermoth. And that one is a good flyer!

Hello All,
Just an update from my end. Between work, Christmas and the wind I have not been flying much but for Christmas my wife bought be a FrSky Module for my Futaba 10C and some Rx's so I could join the modern times and fly 2.4G. The first plane I put it in was the moth after having some bad range issues.....and two fly aways . Finally last light there was not a lick of breeze and I went down to the local school yard and got a couple flights in. I am very happy to report that I spec'ed her out last night and not a single issue with range...what a relief. Still not sure what was going on with the 72Mhz stuff but after trying three Rx's in the Moth I still had issues but none on some of my other planes...very strange.

Cheers,
Jim

25ft. Tiger Moth In Flight Photos!!!

Breaking News!

At last! The 25ft Tiger Moth Flies Again!! No video, but I did get wifey to take some pictures. This is my flying field, but it is being rebuilt into a huge sports complex and Homeland Security is moving into a tower on the other side of the airport from where I fly. I don't think they're going to like me hovering around there with my quads.

Anyway, this little moth is powered by the original IPS geared motor. Radio is GWS 3 channel. This little plane has, for some reason, become legendary.
These pictures are dedicated to Basketcase, Boomer, Keith, and all other Tiger Moth pilots who have gone before us.

Looks good Buzz.... Well I am hoping to get to fly tomorrow.
Weather looks reasonable for this time of year ( Less then 10 mph wind) and around 60 degrees so that is nice.
Maybe not florida nice! But nice for Winter in Oklahoma.
Will be nice to get some stick time!

Work in progress....

While not a GWS Pico, (which we have several of, yet to be built), this little
HK Tiger Moth is nearing first test flight status. I need to round up some Royal
Navy aircrew to install in the cockpits, and some minor paint details.
Span is about 22 inches on this well engineered, highly detailed beauty.
Given the small size, I don't intend for it to get much more than 25' up!

sharp looking TM!
I got one of the Bigger HK Tigermoths when they first came out. Flew great and looks great too.
And as you say about this one lots of detail!
So I am really interested in hearing about this one after you have flown it!

Thanks Pat, that means a lot coming from you. You do build some beautiful float planes. This one is so old its getting brittle. My wing wires have sagged, so I go flying by with all of them flapping in the wind. lol
