That's what this thread is all about, the pico size. There is a thread for the 400 size or big Tiger Mouth also. BP has the painted one in stock $65.00. I am glad I got my unpainted version last week. Maybe I got the last one in stock.

Maidened my new one yesterday. Wind was gusty 10 mph. I thought do I darÉ Well being no chicken I try to take off from the ground, but nope, wind put her on her back. So I hand launch, up she goes. Straight up, wow , full throttle on a 360 mah lipo and stock IPS and I had a ground speed of about 2 mph dive maybe 5. 3 channel planes are Fun Fun FUN. This being a great 3 ch and is my second one.

Cheers Todd.

Curious who carries it these days so I checked. I paid $22 for one of my kits 3-4 years ago.

Wow, Tower doesn't carry it and it is out of stock most places. Bphobbies does not carry the white version anymore?

Allerc has it: http://www.allerc.com/gws-pico-tiger...der-p-680.html

I got my moth's motor from here (they also sell the plane) - good seller:
http://m-a-e.com/Sub_Pages/Products/...rMoth_Kits.htm

There was that other site with "caliper" in the name that carried only GWS - can't find it now. Here it is (I did not have a good experiance with this vender though - shady):

Need a quick point to a thread on modifying the wings to accept ailerons.

This thread is a monster...my pc is now too old n' slow to navigate this puppy. I tried a search but couldn't find anything.

Ailerons on the Pico Tiger Moth are not practical. The original Tiger Moth had ailerons on the bottom wings only... but there was enough surface area on the real ones to let them do rolls. The TM 400 had ailerons... but you really don't need them on the Pico Moth. I have a 3D moth and the control surfaces are huge, including the ailerons. On that plane they put ailerons on the top and bottom wing. They work well!

I did try this several years ago, and have some thoughts on this.

I found that it had very bad habits. It had adverse roll something fierce. (for those not knowing what that is, if you tried to bank to go left, it would bank, but actually turn to the right.)

Now, here's the rub about all that - this was long before I had a MIX capable radio, (to add in some rudder to swing the tail around the correct way)
and long before I knew anything about aileron differential.
I tend to use mechanical differential on a lot of my planes. (Aileron does not go down nearly as much as going up - to keep the lifting wing from seeing more drag)

So, with the fact I've learned a lot thru the years, I'd be tempted to try it again, just for the fun and challenge of seeing it work. But like Buzz said, it's sure not needed at all on this plane.

Sorry, can't help with your original question as to a post to show you.

As a note to confirm this. The HK Tigermoth that is designed with ailerons benefits a lot from adding rudder when you turn with ailerons for a coordinated turn.

As has been said it is not really a good idea to do on the Pico. You are adding weight and complexity with no real improvement in the way it flies.
Best to enjoy the light goodness of 3 channel moth flying!
