hi, may I know what kind of motor shaft diameter does this fan support?
Can it suport the 3.2mm diameter shaft motors? This fan looks like the 5 blade EDF from Himodel see www.himodel.com Search for 70mm EDF Cheers Galactica |

I've got one and it does look good. Shroud is a hair thicker than the Minifan, so it may need a junction to connect to tight fitting intakes designed for the MF480.
I'm currently balancing the rotor right now, but I have a Mega 16/17/2 to fit into it since we're all familiar with the specs on that motor. Will be testing this on the standard 3s2p pack. My original idea of putting this into my HET Skyray won't work, the ducting back there is really tight. The back up is a previously flown HET F-18 which is currently almost ready to fly (fan unit and esc was moved to another project) Should be flying this on Sunday. I'll do some bench testing for numbers before mounting it into the F-18. Will have those posted in a day or two. Thanks to Eric at AirPac for providing this unit for testing! Btw, I'm going to need to come see you for a AP900 for the big F-18 I'm building. ![]() David |

Some pics and measurements. ID/OD. measurements in mm except.
AP700 MF480 Motor tube 29.25/31.60 28.85/31.85 Shroud 68.8/73.19 68.78/71.59 Rotor Hub 32.25 30.22 FSA 2912sq mm 2912sq mm (rounded) 4.5sq in 4.5sq in Yes, I found this funny, the Fan Swept Area ended up being the same (once I rounded - the difference were so minute, I don't think it matters). The problem will be that the shroud is a bit thicker, which means that when I mate it to the intake and exhaust ducts, I'll need to make those a hair larger also. Hope to measure thrust, watts and amps for the Mega 16/17/2 on a TP 3s2p 4200 pack possibly tomorrow night, else Saturday afternoon (right before it goes into the Het F-18. |

hahah stay away from the shears! Hours of peace and quiet are great for me. About the only time I can sit down and concentrate on building.
Well, not a great day for putting in AP700 into the Het F-18. It doesnt fit. I'm going to need to dremel off some of the shroud to get it into the former and intake duct. Well, actually did that at the field, but I didnt take off enough and it deformed the shroud a little. So I'm going to hit the high spots and try it again tomorrow. I'm glad I live in a cement building so the neighbors arent going to be bugged by a dremel at 10PM at night.
