Radio Shack 1600 NIMH's in a Zagi

Hello,

Are the radio shack 1600 nimh's a good choice in a zagi x 400? They seem good to me. Aren't nimh's better than nicads for this sort of thing?

Also, where can I find out how to build my own pack?

Thanks,
Austin Carpenter

Also,

What do you guys think about this cell: http://www.aspencer1.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=10053

It is a good bit cheaper.

I read a post about people building radio shack 1600 packs for like $25, but they are 4 for $16, which doesn't add up, that is if it has the same number of cells.

Thanks,
Austin Carpenter

RS 1600 packs are pre-packaged in 8 cells which you "remodel" They are $25. They will give less zip than 8 cell 500 AR pack just barely, but will last over 10" in stock Zagi. My Astro 020 Zagi will tear up the sky for 5" full throttle with the 1600's.

Somewhere here is a link to andy's pictures of converting the stock pack for Zagi use. Search and ye shall find.

Here's the link from my extensive library

It's not hard. Buy shrink wrap from www. radicalrc.com. $2 shipping. 2 1/8" is for AA square packs.

BTW - I use the RS pack in my Zagi. It has a good punch, and outlasts nicads. Not as quick as Nicads, but longer 1/2 throttle flight times. I'm no speed demon (yet), so it's ok.

We have some Hitec Flash 5SX in stock with HS-81 servos. I could bring it with me this weekend to Memphis where I will be attending a wedding, and save you on shipping charges. I would even swap out some HS-81MG servos if you wanted.

I think you will be very happy with a Flash 5SX, no matter where you buy it from. Highly recommended.

And by the way, those Nexcell cells will not work in an RC application. The internal resistance is too high, and they will not have enough voltage. The only 2 suitable are the Radio Shack and the Sanyo 1600 NIMH cells, with Sanyo being the better cells.

We have 8 cell Sanyo packs in stock for $24 right now on Special.
