Did my test flights, cg too far back. Have it at 3/8" but seems not right. Still have some twist in the wing. It turns left and I can't trim it straight. I'll try againg tonight.

If you have a twist might want to go nose heavy for a while until you get it trimmed straignt.

FYI, I just got a large balsa order I was waiting on. I should have kits back in stock sometime next week.

I've been lurking for a while and thought I'd share my new Gambler with the power pod option. It weighs 8oz and I'm getting 7 minutes of full throttle motor run with an 800mah battery. Still trying to get the brake function to work on the esc. Followed instructions and tried twice with no luck. Need to take it to the hobby shop tomorrow and see if they can make it work.

Finally test glided (glid?) my Gambler this afternoon. Flew really nicely with just one tick of up trim. Nice and light. Could not give it a good heave because the park is too small.

Turns out there's a hard and a soft brake on Castle esc. Choose the hard brake!

FYI, kits are back in stock. I thought I posted this yesterday but somehow I must have forgotten to hit submit.

That would be a real bummer..the dog at my airplane.
Saturday I did a SAL directly in the sun. I'll never do that again!! When I was able to see again after a few moments of being blinded, my Gambler was nowhere to be found. I searched the horizon for what seemed like an eternity. Finally I snapped and turned around. There she was - ready to tangle with a tree. Pulled up just in time. Whew!

Sun and wind are both on my check list when launching. It will become second nature to you quickly though. I don't even think about it now - I just instictively do the 'right' thing.

eight inch balsa for trailing edge?

I'm building from plans.

I see the plans call for 3/32 in stock for the trailing edge which is then sanded to shape.

It looks like the tail end of the ribs is only 1/8 in so I'm thinking I could make the trailing edges from 1/8 in stock (I don't have any 3/32 on hand).

Is there any problem with using 1/8 in balsa for the trailing edge?
