As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, I am underwelmed with the quality of the wing. Not only was the covering abysmally bad, several ribs were not glued to the TE.
But these were minor hickups as I knew I was going to recover. One thing I didnot verify (as this was an ARF after all) was the fit of the two wing halves. I expected to maybe have to do a bit of sanding to get a good fit, so I left this for last.

So imagine my surprise when I trial fitted the winghalves. One root is 5mm longer then the other! Measuring further towards the tip, the differences are less, and by the dihedral break they're equal.
How will it fly?

Yikes, in country I haven't seen so bad quality control on 2M Flings.

Check the warping too.

There was a very slight warp, which I treated with some heat from my covering iron. I'll have to keep an eye on it though

I suggest you to use -2° to -4° washout at the tips. I use a very simple device to check warping an doing washouts, I'll send you a picture later if you want.

Regards.

Always willing to learn... I use bamboo BBQ skewers taped to the wing's bottom...

My wings came out the same where they went together. It is at least 5 years old,but it rarely gets flown. If i ever got ambitious and put a motor,or power pod on it it would get flown a lot more often.

That's pretty nice. In my country we use to fly 2m contests with Flings and the minimum weight is 650g.

It should fly very well.

I hope to do at least some trim/glide tests tomorrow. Depends on the wind.

Wing Joiner

Help

Anybody have the joiner for the 2 piece wing that can scan
and send it?

At a local comp, the winch driver got exuberant and the wings
now have a "bit" more dihedral, I have aluminium and ply to
fabricate a new one but need the angle of the original joiner

Thanks

Alex

Darn -- I just cleaned out my garage last weekend and threw out the old joiner for that wing.
