Too bad Gerry did not have his PT Boat out as well as his Envoy.

Love those bubbles that come off of the props at Balboa.

Flower Class Corvette

He did 3 or 4 hulls, then got out of the model boat hobby. All of the plate lines are moulded in. A good friend of mine bought the hull, then drilled all of the rivet holes in the plates with a pin vise! He put in 5,000 Sig mfg. airplane scale rivets, than lost interest. He gave it to me about 15 years ago. Every time I look at it I think about finishing the rivets. There's still about 14,000 rivet holes to fill with straight pin heads (Sig stopped making the scale rivets years ago). Another idea would be to build a whaler on this hull (the flower class was partially based on a pre war whaler design). Hull length is approx. 79".

Mark, do you know of any 1/32 scale Flower Class Corvette hulls for sale?

Chris,

That was the only 1/32 hull scale I've seen. I never finished the rivets. I sold the hull to someone else, who sent it out of state over a year ago. There might be one in England, but I haven't seen it . After the war, some of the Flowers were turned into lightships (all red, with one large light on a center cage type mast).

You can run electric, steam, and sail boats at Hansen Dam lake 7 days a week from 7:30 AM till Dusk.

There are no rescue boats on site. Bring your own Springer, or kayak.

The life guards used to go out and rescue stalled boats but they stopped doing it a couple of years ago now.

Thanks Mike!

Every tractor brand has it's own color scheme. I am undecided at the moment, but will probably do it in John Deere colors as that is the most universally recognizable I think.
