You are right; that is a 1/32 scale flower class corvette. The hull was made about 17 years ago by a Maritime Modelers member named Steve Allen. He did 3 or 4 hulls, then got out of the model boat hobby. All of the plate lines are moulded in. A good friend of mine bought the hull, then drilled all of the rivet holes in the plates with a pin vise! He put in 5,000 Sig mfg. airplane scale rivets, than lost interest. He gave it to me about 15 years ago. Every time I look at it I think about finishing the rivets. There's still about 14,000 rivet holes to fill with straight pin heads (Sig stopped making the scale rivets years ago). Another idea would be to build a whaler on this hull (the flower class was partially based on a pre war whaler design). Hull length is approx. 79".

That was the only 1/32 hull scale I've seen. I never finished the rivets. I sold the hull to someone else, who sent it out of state over a year ago. There might be one in England, but I haven't seen it . After the war, some of the Flowers were turned into lightships (all red, with one large light on a center cage type mast).

sorry but i can't find info can we run boats there anyday? How much $$ to run? any retreval boats there? The life guard is tired of chashing me out of Castaic lake every day even my brushless boats now

You can run electric, steam, and sail boats at Hansen Dam lake 7 days a week from 7:30 AM till Dusk.

There are no rescue boats on site. Bring your own Springer, or kayak.

The life guards used to go out and rescue stalled boats but they stopped doing it a couple of years ago now.

Ok thanks I have lots of electric modified boats so hope too make it out soon & see everyones else's boats out there too.

Every tractor brand has it's own color scheme. I am undecided at the moment, but will probably do it in John Deere colors as that is the most universally recognizable I think.
