Help With Engel Stern Plane Bracket
Hi Irregulars,
I know I am all over the place with projects but having sold off all of my smaller scale submarine stuff I decided to work on my Engel Type VII/C. I have run into a major problem. They provide a bronze bracket assembly to align the prop shafts, provide pivot points for the rudders, and provide pivot points for the stern dive planes.
Here is the problem. When they assembled the bracket assembly the supports for the pivot arms for the stern planes were brazed in the wrong location. According to all of the Type VII/C plans that I have, these supports should be located at shaft level. On mine, they are either 2 - 3 mm too high or too low, depending on ones point of view. I do not have any equipment to make the repair. It will consist of cutting off the pivot arms and properly relocating them with the proper spacing and alignment and re-attaching.
Can any body help!!!! I am in West Hills and would be happy to drive any reasonable distance to anyone that do the rework.
Thanks,
Iran
