that ultimate looks the winner. cheap and easy to build. make sure to razor out excess foam from the fuse. I have that same combo (a20 20l, phoenix 25, and tp 1320...) I might get one myself.

The Eflite Ultimate FX is nice. I have one that I fly outdoors all the time with a setup similar to yours. Very nice little plane.

It has a stick mount so you will either need to buy or build an adaptor for you hacker. I run a park 400 on mine.

gor for the ultrafly ultimate and you will not be dissappointed. ive had both and the eflite doesnt fly near as well as the awesome ultrafly.flew it with 3 diff. power systems and all flew very well. the eflite wont handle as much wind as the ultra either and doesnt fly anywhere close. my eflite lasted all of a few weeks while i flew the ultra everyday for 5 months before passing it on to my friend and theres a new one sitting here in the box.

Yup, Mustang's right, the Ultimate would be my choice. It is a great flyer, and not to difficult to build. The decals take some time, but add a lot of strength to the foam. Great bird. I don't know if the Hacker will pull it around very well though. Mine came in at about 25 oz. with a 3S 2100 lipo. I run an Axi 2808/24 on it, and it flies VERY well.

Oh, and it lands so nice and slow... By far the best landing plane I have, even over the KM.

I had flown my A20-22L in a BigNasty that came in at 20 Oz with a 1500, and it flew great, but not balistic. I'm flying the A20 in a 22 oz Cap 232 now with the 1500, and it flies well, but leaves some room for improvement. If he's wanting more then park flying and some mild pattern, with the Ultimate at 23 oz (less ozs for smaller bat) then I think he might still be pushing that A20.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great motor, but I don't think it's made for performance on planes much over 20 oz. It will fly it, and fly it well, but I don't think he'd see much hovering or 3D out of it.

I am not too familiar with Hackers, but a 1320 10 C rated can not generate the current for a motor suitable for the UF Ultimate. With airfoil wings, it's quite large, and requires 250 watts to be at it's best. Mine carries 3s2p 2500 lipos and UF B/12/10 (240 watts).

The Yak is a bit small for your system.

Strictly on your power system, mostly battery (because the Hacker is in the viccinity of 180 watts I believe), i'd look into something like the E-Flite Ultimate. Anything in the 13-16 ounces range.

the ultrafly ultimate is in the 16 ounce range, you just follow to many printed texts to realize that.

and its 12c continuous, 12x13.2 = 15.84 amps...yeah umm...plenty to bench an 18 ounce model with acceptable authority (aka my 20 ounce fliton prodigy.)

guys, razor the guts outta the fuse. cut corners with glue.. thing isnt gonna break, and you arent gonna crash anyway.

and I know I drag on, but one more thing. When i first started flying 3d, I worried about the health of my lipos. the suggested discharge is a precaution to keep users from killing their batteries. but you know what? I kill em anyway. if they can deliver, I disregard their life span. at any point a "wounded" lipo can be properly treated so that its lifespan rebounds to where ever you left it at. its worth the money for me to over do it, to shave the weight, to keep 3 in 3d.

No, the UF Ulti can not be built at 16 ounces with a decent power system. Look more into the 22-25 ounces range.

I think your thinking of another bird. Here are the specs for the Ultrafly Ultimate:

SPECS: Wingspan: 35.4" (900mm)
Wing Area: 458 sq in (29.7 sq dm)
Flying Weight: 20-25oz (570-700g)
Length: 37.4" (950mm)
Airfoil: Fully summetrical
Center of Gravity: 3.9" (100mm) Back from the wing's leading edge at
the fuselage sides.
Control Throws- Low Rate High Rate
Ailerons: Up & Down 0.79" (20mm) 1.2" (30mm)
Elevator: Up & Down 1.2" (30mm) 1.8" (45mm)
Rudder: Left and Right 1.4" (35mm) 2.4" (60mm)

The Ultrafly Furious and Outrage are much lighter, maybe that is what your thinking of.
