and here's some really good decal paper

www.papilio.com

and an excellent printer that has the ability to print in white, gold foil, and silver foil, as well as standard colors (you can still find them on eBay but they are no longer produced though you can still get supplies)

Couldn't we just take these thumbnails and blow them up and print on decal paper?

I dont think the quality is the same, the ones he used to email where much higher quality, I guess you could try and enhance them if you have photoshop or something like that.

If someone is willing to host them, and if Allan does not object, I have 2 of his ful-rez decal sheets I could provide to help restart a repository.

I'm not bothered about how anyone uses them.

However, bear in mind that any decals downloaded from the web will not be at a very good resolution, usually the resolution will be 72 dpi and a lot of small detail will get lost.

I got the originals from various websites and totally redrew them at a 300 dpi resolution, then tried to fit as many on an A4 sheet as would fit, hopefully to allow for the inevitable cock up.Each decal sheet involved a good few hours work for me.
The ones I used to email were often 150 dpi resolution and the later ones were sent out at 200 dpi. which was about the limit for email attachments I think owing to the file size.

Owing to personal family and health problems I haven't run a bike for nearly three years and my interest has declined, so doing any more decals seemed a bit pointless.

How much resolution do we need for a small 1/8 scale bike?

Hi Kev,

I used to scale each individual part of the decal to just fit on an A4 sheet and then scale it back down to match the original size, that way it helps to keep a lot of small detail.
I frequently searched the web for original manufacturers logos to use because the decals that I downloaded were beyond redrawing once they were scaled up.
