What is the difference between these tail gears??

What is the difference between these Align part numbers HS1152 and HS1153 ? They are the tail gear sets(blue} w/ aluminum belt pulleys. Thanks!

Look on Align's web site. 53 is for SE, 52 is for XL or CF frame. It comes with the pulley installed. The SE version comes without the pulley installed so you can get it into the bearing block.

The preassembled pulley set has a spline that the alloy belt pulley is pressed on to.

The SE set that doesnt have the pulley assembled, also needs the pulley to be held on with R48 but it doesn't have a spline.

Edit: see next post

Apart from that, they are exactly the same.

ALL the new tail shafts are 41mm.

Must have been a REAL early one, because Align brought out the 41mm tail shafts before the slow down gears.

My pulleys seem to be fine, they run very true, unlike the plastic pulleys.

I went to align's web page and looked at the pretty pictures and saw the difference and ordered the set with the front pulley already installed.

Guy at the LHS here said the only difference was whether the pulley was pre-installed or not. I bought the last pre-installed one. He said the others were for the SE b/c of how it installs in the frame. He said it only saves one step, and that they'd not be stocking the 1152s any longer (I bought the last one).
