MaxiR Belt driven tail conversion near.
Hey all MaxiR owners. I am close to releasing a kit for the tail rotor that will help all those that have had trouble with the tail rotor stripping gears.
Here is a prelim picture to show how the kit goes together.
Only thing to get done is design and build a Tail Rotor gearbox that goes well with the CF frames.
As you can see, the kit is basically a new frame set (CF), modified bottom main shaft bearing block, and an aluminum idler pulley set, pulleys, belt and a new Tail rotor gearbox. You will be able to re-use almost everything on the MaxiR without having to get any special parts. Weight remains virtually the same as before the conversion. I am also working up a set of stock looking LG struts that will bolt right on and increase the height of the heli 3/8 of an inch and get the tail rotor out of the grass.
