ok so say i were to be making a wing off this design out of coroplast (i live in australia and cannot find anything equivalent to blucor), scaled down to 22'' wingspan...and i ran this motor http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160302682156
with a 2s 850mah lipo...
wat are the chances of it actually flying up and away as opposed to directly into the ground infront of me?
any help would b great and im sorry if this kind of question has become extremely repetative...im just a little new to the whole plane,brushless and propellor scene...

Acer at Speedwing.net used that motor on one of his 24" wings. I think anything between 24" and 30" would do just fine.

I think coroplast would be too heavy. Wouldn't hurt to try, but I'm about 11-12 oz with a 3 cell 1320, so a 2 cell is going to be pushed pretty hard.

I flew a 48" wing made from 3mm coroplast, and it was a lot heavier than a wing made from blucore. It was underpowered with a 400 brushed motor. Once you get some altitude and keep your speed up it handled great. With some of the more powerful brushless motors you could have a pretty cool bulletproof wing.

ok cool... i also have a 3s 1000mah from my honeybee king 2...might also give it a shot..
iv found one other thing here in aus that slightly resembles some things iv heard about..
u can buy it at picture framing shops and its a thin foam board with eaither thin cardboard or thick paper on it...im pretty sure the paper can be peeled off..would this be a better option? i might try and go for a 32'' as oposed to my original thought of 22''........would this little motor still be enough?

so i decided to go with the paper covered stuff and make a 31''....man was the paper annoying to get off..soaked it and then rubbed it all off..
bought one of these puppies:

which i shall run with a 4.75x4.75 APC prob on both a 2s 800 mah and a 3s 1000mah...i also have a smaller 5x3 and a 4.2x2...
how do u think i will do for speed, thrust and amp draw?

I am using 99.9 % pure Methyl Hydrate liquid to remove the paper from the foam boards. It is available in the Canadian Tire stores. I am sure that the hardware store in your area will have it. As well The Home Depot or Lowe’s might have it.
Splash some liquid onto the board and with the rug spread on whole sheet. After 20 seconds the paper should peel off easilly.

According to this motor calculator: http://www.adamone.rchomepage.com/calc_motor.htm

The 4.75x4.75 prop on a 3s is your best bet:
It will draw 13.1 amps and have a speed of approx 90 mph with a thrust of 13 oz. Personally I think the speed estimate is a bit high - probably will be more like 70 mph when you take air frame drag into account.

The 5x3 prop will give similar thrust but only go 60 mph at 8 amps

The 4.2x2 would really be dismal at around 42 mph at 5.5 amp draw and only 10 oz of thrust.

Don't bother with the 2s battery unless you plan to run a much larger prop. An APC 7x5 would work with a 2s battery (17 amp draw, 17 oz thrust but only 53 mph)

Or a 6x4 prop on a 3s battery will draw 18 amps, give you 23.6 oz thrust and about 73 mph. Now that's a pretty good combo. You'll need the thrust if you want some impressive verticals...

what to do to get rid of flutter.
i have cf across already, taped leading edge. but at 10 seconds into a level ft flight it'll vibrate and flutter.
power is donsrc wicked jr, 3s 1300, 30 amp esc.
any suggestions on making it stronger? fg i have melted the test foam i have
BTW its made of 1/2 blue cor sanded to an airfoil.
