Which hacker motor for HW609 on 16 cells?

I can't seem to find a web site for Hacker motors. I know that for the 609 fan on 16 cells at around 40 amps I want a Kv of about 2000. Hacker has a 50 series motor in either S (short) L (long) or XL with various winds so that I could have this approximate Kv on either of the 3 sizes. However, there is only one size which will be optimum for the cell count and current that I want to draw i.e. 16 cells, 40 amps.

Anyone there have any experience with these motors or know where I can get more data?

Thanks

sb

Hacker recommends the D50-12S for the HW 609
fan unit. On 12 cells it's about 40 AMPs and 27,000 RPM. In a Midi fan the D50-18S does 40 AMP's and 26,0000mRPM on 14 cells.

I am looking for about another 100-150 watts. I found the site though and that was helpful. Thanks Greg and Bruff!

The motocalc currently has data on the the hacker motors, although I don't have any hacker motors so I don't know how it matches to the real motors. You don't need motocalc to look at the data it is posted on the motocalc web site. Last I checked the weights where swapped on the B50 S and L motors, so keep that in mind if you are using motocalc's "heat" feature which is based on motor weight.

You can also find hacker motor constants here too.. http://www.gordontarling.co.uk/

I would think the L model would be the safest bet, although the S might work, the XL appears a little heavy for this purpose.

Thanks for that. I agree that the L is looking like a safer bet and the XL is overkill. But having the numbers is helpful.

Much appreciated. I will post some numbers if and when I get the goods.
