Question
Connectors Bat - ESC Connectors ESC - Motor?

What connectors do you guys use between the Battery and ESC and between the ESC and the motor? I don't like the idea of soldering the ESC to motor so its a permanant link as I have to use the ESC in another motor.

Depends on the current load, and whether its Brushed or Brushless.

Some like Dean's Ultras between battery and ESC, then depending on the current load:

From ESC to Motor: For brushed, MicroDeans 2-pin or Deans Ultras; For brushless, MicroDeans polarized 3-pin.

However since many brushless motors now come with Gold Bullet Connectors, you can use those between ESC and motor.

Personally I use Gold Connectors (1.8mm/2.5mm/3.0mm) for EVERYTHING.

Cheers, Phil

I am leaning to the bullet connectors too. Not only are they cheap and easy to solder stuff onto them but they will plug directly into my charger.

For the battery packs is it alright to go with bullet connectors too?

Better to use polarized connectors on battery leads since it eliminates chance
of accidentally connecting your battery backwards. Bullet connectors are fine between ESC and motor- even if you make a mistake there, the worst case
is that the prop will spin backward- no harm done.

I put a male and a female on the pack, and the reverse on the battery side of the ESC, so that I can't plug the ESC in backward. In storage I keep plastic "thread protectors" [ACE Hardware] over the Gold Connectors to prevent shorts.

Cheers, Phil

Caveat: Stuff a battery pack armed with Kiwi's Kwik Klips into your pocket
and you'll find out the meaning of the term, "bullet connectors." Ouch!
