How do I go Brushless w/ CP2 ?
I finally found the fix to my CP2 problem ! Many thanx to everyone here. I changed out all 3 servos for the E-Flite S75s.
After constant hovering practice I already used up the main motor. Is going brushless worth it in the long run ? I plan to fly this thing for awhile, having a blast learning ! So I want a nice upgraded setup. I've read that there are brushless motors I can use with the stock 4-1. I'm really new to brushless so I'm not sure what other parts I need to buy along with it. Thanks ! |

This is one way that's pretty much plug-n-play.
http://www.deeteeenterprises.com/NS....P.Upgrades.php You will also need a 9 tooth pinion with a 2mm center bore, a 3 cell pack of Lithium Polymer batteries (Thunder Power 1320mah packs work well) and a set of symmetrical blades. It's well worth the investment IMHO. Cheers- Boyd AMA 80393 Major USAF Retired |

If you're on budget, get motor and esc, then do the 4-in-1 mod which is cheaper than buying the brushless converter. There's a thread on howto do it on here.

Motor: http://www.heli-fever.com/product_in...roducts_id=445 Controller: http://www.heli-fever.com/product_in...roducts_id=369 The use the pinion off your old motor. (use a 10 dollar pinion puller if you dont have one already). I have two helis that have been modified this way and could not be more pleased with their performance. Then spend all the extra dollars that would would have spent on this mod on some heli parts so you can fly everyday and become an awesome pilot! Good Luck and Happy Flying! -Scott |

Scott,
Any impact on flight times with this brushless main motor conversion? You're running the BL main with the dual stock and DD tail motors? Mike |

Yes you are correct. I have more power available and the run time might be just slightly longer but the motor is way cooler (150 degrees) as opposed to the stock motor which would normally be about 185 Degrees in temp after a 14 minute nonstop run (canopy on). The heli weights are about the same too. The brushless heli with out the battery weighs in at 243 grams and the normal setup heli (twin tail motors on both) weighs 237grams. -Scott |

On that note, are the e-bay brushless systems worth it...?

2900 seems under powered for this heli. 3600 seems like the sweet spot.

The controller seems to have auto throttle calibration which from my impression of reading this forum is not good for Heli. I think for Heli you need some ESC designed for Heli is best. |
