Anyone use the E-Power 11.1V 1300mAH 3S Li-Po Battery?

The battery is so cheap ($20) anyone use it how about size, any problems i should know about this battery before I order it?

It can be found at:http://www.helidirect.com/product_in...roducts_id=635

Its a bit longer, thinner and heavier then the stock 1000mah but flies well.

Will it still fit in the canopy without modifiing it? Also your saying it is heavier than the big stock blue battery?

Yah it will fit but more batt will extend behind the canopy, also need to secure better to prevent a tail heavy condition. I was referring to the stock 1000 11.1v lipo from esky, mine is lime green in color.

I just got one of these. As compared to a tp 1320 3s it is heavier, longer and thinner.

Run time appears about the same. It fits under my canopy fine (blade cp). I just put on the landing gear kit they sell, but I think it would fit under the stock.

For $20 you can't go too wrong I think, but I do have a few nits about it. The wires are of and inferior quality as compared to the TP packs. They are very stiff making it hard to tuck them in. The balance connector is not compatible with the TP balancer I have. I think you need an adapter or put the appropriate connector on. Its wrapped in what appears to be opaque tape. I prefer the clear shrink wrap of the tp packs as you wouldn't really be able to observe the condition of the cells.

Given the weight/size differential and these other factors, I'd say its a good deal IF it lasts as long as the TP. I don't rate it a great deal at this point.

I had 2 and loved them. I flew about 3 months on them and they were still going strong when I sold my heli.

Yep they are great! I have and fly 6 of them. I like the longer run time. They weigh in at 99 grams (the normal Esky 1000mah batterys that I got with my helis weighed 72g). From our tests The 1300 mah batteries give about 17-18 minutes flying in ground effect, landing and taking off. In forward aggressive continious nonstop flying I get about 12-13 minutes). More tests with a low battery voltage lipo alarm- I still get about 13 minutes of continious flight time flying slow, up high and all around out of ground effect (this requires more power than any other manuver). These batteries temp in at about 110 degrees after a continous flight where my esky batteries would be at about 130-140 degrees after flying.

These results were all with canopy installed, flying 3 different CP2s, two standard motor and one brushless, two have the dual tail motors and the other has a direct drive tail motor, all flying symmetrical blades. Helicoptor flying weights were 330g, 335g, 343g with batteries installed.

Other things I noticed is that heli seems to be a little bit more stable flying with these batteries- probably due to the lower center of gravity and slightly heavier weight. With the standard 1100mah batterys that I have that weigh 68 grams- the helicoptor can climb faster and accellerate faster.

Bottom line- I have a buddy that has bought two batteries from the local hobby store (1320 mah batteries by Kokam and Electrify that weigh the same amount) and paid 120 bucks. I have 6 of these 20 dollar battery packs for the same price and when we go to fly- I can fly continiouly for almost two hours and he is done in about 35 minutes.

Bumping an old thread, does anyone have any feedback on how these batteries are holding up a couple months later?

I have 2 for my CP2 that i bought it february and im probably through over 100+ charges. They are starting to fade a little sooner now, I think i got about 30-40 charges left before i junk em. I use a KS digital Pro charger, thats not a balance so maybe they'd last longer on a balance charger.

worth the $$ anyday!

Just picked up a couple from Helidirect and at 20.00 a pop, well worth it and the HoneyBeeCP2 and Blade CP hauls the battery great. the added weight is a plus for the micro heli.
