Biplane vs single wing
We all know that bi plane in have more wing area hence lower wing loading than single wing plane.
But I was told/read somewhere that biplane lift effectiveness is not entirely accurate.
Say I have 2 plane, tiger moth and cub: Same AUW of 90oz. same power plan: Mega 30/3 with 2.5:1 on 16 cells driving 12x8 giving about 500+watts.
TM has 900 Sq in giving 14.5oz/f
Cub has 700 sq in giving 18.5oz/f
Theoretically, the TM will fly slower and required lesser amount of power to fly because of the lift area, right? But it is also a more draggy plane? What will happen to forward flight and power required to sustain flight?
Plus the wing turbulence between the wing, will render one of the wing lift ability lesser. Is this true?
Have anyone flew/convert the above and if the above are true?
