Mark Leseberg’s 40% Extra AEF Demo Video

I am finally getting around to looking through the videos from the Arizona Electric Festival and thought some of you guys might like to see this one. It is really amazing how the plane moves to the music. Mark said it flies as good as when it had the DA150 in it and he is likely to compete with the electric version this year.

Awesome video... thanks for posting it. I saw some clips of this aircraft on the Flying Giants Groundschool teaser, but it sounds even better when you can hear the lack of sound from the electric motor (if that makes any sense).

How long has he been flying this E-version. Any ideas?

Tom

Not sure but he was flying it with the Innerdemon Goliath gearbox last year.

He now is using the Hacker Quad. I believe the announcer stated 38 pounds.

WWWWWWWow! Mark is truely a remarkable pilot. I believe this model is the same one he had at SEFF 2005. I was there to see it fly but in the video seems to have more power now. This video is a keeper on my harddrive.

While these models are out of reach of ownership of most I am sure glad pro pilots have the income/sponsorship to put one of these models together and demo/compete and share them with us at events such as AEF, SEFF, MWE and NEAT. Electrics really have come a long way since I started this hobby in 2002.

Thanks for sharing the video.

The SEFF 2005 aircraft was a 40% Godfrey Extra 330. This is a 42% Extra 260.

Still a very nice aircraft, beautifully flown by an amazing pilot.

Wow! I agree with Killer, the one roll loop from inverted no less was mind boggling. Really, I have been trying to figure out the stick movements in my head and it's no easy task. I just gotta get out and practice more.

Wow. 3d is cool, but slow rolling anything still takes the cake for me. Probably because I can't do it!

Cheers,
Greg

But it's great to see someone who can fly like that. Gives us something to dream about .

I too love the sounds of these large electrics. They sound far more realistic than any large two stroke ever could. The plane is amazing. The flying, well what can you say? But the music...so bad.
